Consulting is more than just giving advice. Advice without effective implementation is meaningless. With over 20 years of experience working with both global enterprises and early-stage startups, I bring a practical, results-driven approach to product consultation.

By combining agile methodology with design thinking, I help teams tackle their most critical and complex challenges. Through co-creation, rapid prototyping, qualitative testing, and iterative improvements, we’ll collaborate in focused sprints to accelerate progress, minimize risk, and bring innovative ideas to life - quickly and effectively.

What I do

As a Silicon Valley–trained software engineer and 3-time Inc. 500 fastest-growing private company founder, I bring the most value by bridging the gap between strategic planning and results-driven execution. I’ve played multiple roles across businesses ranging from $1M to $50M in annual revenue, helping them scale with focus, speed, and impact:

  • Named as one of the top startups in the world by LinkedIn, Correlation One needed help improving its suite of learning products and driving new user acquisitions and engagement. Leveraging a series of design sprints, we efficiently streamlined ideation, design, and development, resulting in launching their products in 30% less time and resources than before.

  • Rayse, a real estate technology startup, brought me in to help with their strategic planning with their executive team. In addition, I advise and counsel on product/marketing strategy, and facilitate product design and development with their production team during their initial fundraising and MVP product launch.

  • Once an industry leader in the 1980’s, WOW needed a refresh. Working with the owners, I led their branding and marketing strategy and worked with the production team to a digital ecosystem in tune with their enthusiastic fan base. Leading to WOW securing multi-year, multi-million distribution deals with AXS TV and CBS.

About Ming

I got yelled at by Steve Jobs when I was a technical lead working on a project for Apple and that changed the trajectory of my career. His ability to see things other people do not is uncanny, but the way he communicated his ideas left much to be desired. For 20+ years, I have played the role of a software engineer, web developer, technical lead, product manager, digital strategist, CTO, CSO, CEO, and business advisor, and have worked with some of the most brilliant minds in the largest enterprises, and the fastest growing startups. Paving my way in learning all the hard skills I needed to succeed in the creative and technical world of digital, and continuously improving my soft skills to survive in the world of management and business.

I was humbly honored as one of the “Top 10 Asian Entrepreneurs in America” by Inc. Magazine, graciously recognized as a technical leader for an Emmy award in Interactive TV, and grew the digital agency I founded, The1stMovement, to one of “LA Magazine’s Best Places to work in Los Angeles” and “Inc. 500 America’s fastest growing companies” for multiple years, but my biggest passion lies in solving critical business problems, together with other brilliant minds.

I am based in Los Angeles with my wife, Jennifer, and my son, Lincoln. My other passions are food, travel, and photography.
